The Face in the Mirror
Saturday 16 JuneWelsh National Opera's Singing Club Presents; The Face in the Mirror
Music Lynne Plowman | Words Martin Riley | Music Director Dan Perkins
Number 28 holds the key to a strange wartime secret...
Mikela and Cody are fed up. Mikela hasn't been invited to a cool party with her friends, and Cody is sick of having a moody older sister - he just wants to play war games without her sticking her nose in! They stumble upon number 28, a house up their street that was once occupied by a sad old lady, Margery Allen, but has since burnt down. What they find in the blackened ruins is a secret from World War II which will change their lives forever...
The Face in the Mirror, the new show for Welsh National Opera's Singing Club of 10 - 14 year olds, is ideal for ages 8 years and above. It is a moving introduction for older children and young people to the issues of World War II and its effect on people and communities.
A free writing workshop is included in the price of the ticket and will be provided by librettist Martin Riley between 14:00 - 15:30 in our Upper Studio. Although this is free of charge, please mention when booking your tickets if you would like to attend this workshop.
